This is Dean.
He is a 6-year-old boy.
Meet Dean! Dean is a smart, energetic little boy who is very excited to meet his adoptive family. This little boy loves to play soccer and be read to. He absolutely loves books, even though he is still learning how to read. Dean is a very good runner and loves the outdoors. In school, Dean is academically average for his age, but does need intervention plans in place so that he can behave and stay focused on his work. He participates in weekly therapy to help him cope with what he has gone through in his life, and to learn how to express his wants appropriately.
The ideal family for Dean should be structured and consistent with implementing rules and daily routines. Dean will need high levels of supervision and redirection to keep him on track and well behaved. The adopting family should also be willing to participate in therapy services for Dean. This young boy will do best in a family with two parents, and no other children or only older children, so that he can receive the attention he needs. The adoptive family should also be patient with Dean and give him positive reinforcement when he does something right.
