This is Alexeya.

She is a 7-year-old girl.

Note: Alexeya is part of a sibling group and must remain with her sibling, Elias.

Meet Alexeya! Alexeya is a very creative and artistic child who enjoys coloring and drawing elaborate pictures.  She also excels in playing make believe and using her imagination.  Alexeya states she would like to take dance and gymnastics classes.  Alexeya is a firecracker and a very strong-willed young lady.  She has excellent leadership skills when provided with the right encouragement and direction.  Alexeya is an assertive child who is able to express her frustrations and anger; however, she continues to need support in utilizing her coping skills to be able to self-regulate.

Alexeya would benefit from a two parent family who can provide her and her brother with structure and routine.  Alexeya and her brother would benefit from being the youngest/only children in the home as they need support and guidance so they can continue working in therapy in regard to their trauma behaviors.  Alexeya needs a strong family who can provide her with clear expectations which will help her maintain healthy boundaries with her brother and peers.

Note: Children, Youth and Families Department (CYFD) has ceased offering the non-relative Adoption Only program. CYFD does continue to offer the Foster Care program. The Foster Care Program differs in that that the goal of the program is to ultimately reunite the child with their biological parent while the child is in your care for approximately a year. Should you become a Foster Parent it is also a possibility that the children that you foster may become available for adoption.
