This is Carlos.

He is a 17-year-old boy.

Meet Carlos! Carlos is a very athletic young man who especially loves football as well as basketball. He would flourish with encouragement and very much wants to be able to participate in team sports in addition to his academics. He is currently working toward a goal of purchasing his own tablet by earning an allowance for completing tasks around the house.

Carlos will thrive within a two-parent forever family who have patience and experience with special needs children. Carlos requires a supportive and nurturing environment so that he can establish trusting bonds; he is working on building his relationship skills. He will adapt well with older siblings that could be positive role models and would be very excited to have family pets that he can care for and love.

Carlos has siblings, and while he has not been able to sustain regular contact, he would appreciate a family that could be supportive of him maintaining those family ties.

Note: Children, Youth and Families Department (CYFD) has ceased offering the non-relative Adoption Only program. CYFD does continue to offer the Foster Care program. The Foster Care Program differs in that that the goal of the program is to ultimately reunite the child with their biological parent while the child is in your care for approximately a year. Should you become a Foster Parent it is also a possibility that the children that you foster may become available for adoption.
