This is Derek.

He is a 12-year-old boy.

Meet Derek! He is an active child that enjoys playing soccer, swimming, riding his bicycle and running. He looks forward to trying different foods and experiencing those moments with people around him. From disliking vegetables at a young age, to trying new vegetables, he now loves them all! When he isn’t learning new hobbies or playing with small dogs, he is focusing on his education. Derek continues to flourish in reading, spelling, and math by having continued support. Derek is a unique, loving, helpful, and determined individual that can overcome any obstacle that is in front of him.

Derek will need a family who will continue to support him academically. He would do best in a two-parent home where he is able to have a role model that encourages him to work in groups and to continue to try new activities. ‚Äč

Before submitting this form, please make sure you are willing and able to meet these requirements.

Note: Children, Youth and Families Department (CYFD) has ceased offering the non-relative Adoption Only program. CYFD does continue to offer the Foster Care program. The Foster Care Program differs in that that the goal of the program is to ultimately reunite the child with their biological parent while the child is in your care for approximately a year. Should you become a Foster Parent it is also a possibility that the children that you foster may become available for adoption.
