This is Javin.

He is a 7-year-old boy.

Javin is described as an old soul. He is a strong willed in some of his ways of thinking and needs a family who can be flexible with their own ideas of how to parent a child and open to learning about Javin’s specific needs. Javin loves school is outgoing and makes friends easily. He loves being outdoors and is also very creative, he loves drawing, and building Legos. Javin would benefit from a family who can provide him with structure, routine, and clear boundaries. Javin’s future family needs to have an interest in participating in future services with him to continue all the progress he has made so far in his current placement. Javin would like a family that is willing to maintain connections with his siblings and would like a home in New Mexico so he can stay close to them. Javin would benefit from a strong, two-parent family willing to continue working with him to learn good social skills, positive interactions and how to process and direct his feelings and emotions. It would be best for Javin to be the youngest child or only child in the home. An experienced family familiar with children with trauma would be ideal.

Note: Children, Youth and Families Department (CYFD) has ceased offering the non-relative Adoption Only program. CYFD does continue to offer the Foster Care program. The Foster Care Program differs in that that the goal of the program is to ultimately reunite the child with their biological parent while the child is in your care for approximately a year. Should you become a Foster Parent it is also a possibility that the children that you foster may become available for adoption.
