This is John D.

He is a 14-year-old boy.

Meet John!  John is a very imaginative and caring young man.  He enjoys being with animals and he will pet them as a way to calm himself.  John is looking forward to being out in nature this summer and catching “critters” such as turtles, fish, tadpoles and frogs for his pond.  He also likes to swim, read, play basketball and skateboard.  John responds best to “high-fives” instead of verbal praise.  He would benefit from a calm and patient family who can offer him structure and consistency.  He would do best as the only or the youngest child as he thrives on individual attention.

Note: Children, Youth and Families Department (CYFD) has ceased offering the non-relative Adoption Only program. CYFD does continue to offer the Foster Care program. The Foster Care Program differs in that that the goal of the program is to ultimately reunite the child with their biological parent while the child is in your care for approximately a year. Should you become a Foster Parent it is also a possibility that the children that you foster may become available for adoption.
