This is Matthew C.

He is a 14-year-old boy.

Matthew is a creative young man with a nurturing demeanor who is skilled in art (Matthew has a talent for drawing), has a passion for reading fiction, and has aspirations to travel – perhaps to Mexico where he can enjoy some of their excellent chocolate! In school, Matthew favors mathematics and works at being a good student, however (like most young teens) he needs regular guidance and help with prioritizing his work. He also has been engaged in sports and plays basketball and football, which is a great source of community involvement.

Given his reserved personality, Matthew excels at relationships with young people who are older than he is as well as adults; he would love to connect with a family that will support his maintaining his relationship with his two sisters, which is very important to him, as well as his new dog, who has become a close companion and a source of much joy for Matthew.

Note: Children, Youth and Families Department (CYFD) has ceased offering the non-relative Adoption Only program. CYFD does continue to offer the Foster Care program. The Foster Care Program differs in that that the goal of the program is to ultimately reunite the child with their biological parent while the child is in your care for approximately a year. Should you become a Foster Parent it is also a possibility that the children that you foster may become available for adoption.
