Meet Maya! Maya is a resilient and upbeat young lady who enjoys school. She especially likes her art and music classes. Maya loves to sing with her karoke machine, spend time with her friends, watch the Disney channel and play her math video game. Her favorite food is red chili enchiladas and her favorite color is purple. Maya states when she grows up she would like to become either a school teacher or a fashion designer.

Maya would benefit from a family who will support her interests as well as encourage her to try to things, such as her follow her desires to be on a basketball team.  Maya and her brother also need a family who will continue to offer this very close sibling group guidance in continuing to address their trauma behaviors.

Xadrian

Note: Xadrian is part of a sibling group and must remain with his sibling, Maya.

Meet Xadrian! Xadrian is an energetic and exuberant young man who will easily engage with people. Xadrian loves school, especially math, and he hopes to become a firefighter or a scientist when he grows up. In his free time, Xadrian enjoys playing with his sister and his friends and riding his bike. He loves the color green, eating pizza and ice cream and watching “Tom and Jerry” cartoons.

He would benefit from a family who can provide him with structure and clear boundaries as well as support in attending therapy.  Like his sister, Xadrian also wants a family who will allow him to have new experiences such as taking art classes or playing on a sports team. Xadrian and his sister also needs a family who will continue to offer this very close sibling group guidance in continuing to address their trauma behaviors.

Note: Children, Youth and Families Department (CYFD) has ceased offering the non-relative Adoption Only program. CYFD does continue to offer the Foster Care program. The Foster Care Program differs in that that the goal of the program is to ultimately reunite the child with their biological parent while the child is in your care for approximately a year. Should you become a Foster Parent it is also a possibility that the children that you foster may become available for adoption.
